This fun competition is now in it’s third year running thanks to a number of committees.  It’s a great way of introducing juniors to our sport and the vast range of species to be caught here in Ireland.  It’s a competition about honour and your own personal motivation to get out there – and it’s easy to incorporate into your every day fishing.

What’s more if you exceed 30 species you can apply for the sew-on patch personally stating the number of species you have caught in the year.  Exceed the recorded specimen length and you can apply for a pin.  Both come with a certificate and cost €10 patch, €5 pin.  Send your details and a stamped addressed envelope (A4) to Joe Birney, Irish Federation of Sea Anglers, Treasurer/National Trophy Officer, C/O Tensile Testing Services Ltd., Unit B1, Smithstown Ind. Est., Shannon, Co. Clare, V14 R710 Ireland. A verification process will take place.

Last two years winners:
2014 winner was Aidan O’Halloran, Tralee Bay SAC
2015 winner  was Tim O’Sullivan, Galway Bay SAC
